A DRIVER caught out while almost twice the limit in a Herefordshire street has been banned from the roads.
Jan Pawel Popek appeared before magistrates for sentencing in January after entering a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit.
The court heard from prosecutor Sarah Hurd that the 30-year-old had been caught out in Ledbury's Biddulph Way after getting behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Insignia while over the alcohol limit on September 10.

An evidential breath test revealed that Popek, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Mr Finden, had 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, almost twice the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
Popek, of Biddulph Way, Ledbury, was disqualified from driving for 15 months and fined £400 for the offence, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea into account when coming to their decision on the penalty.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £160 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
