Two Herefordshire venues have applied for licences to serve alcohol.

Kilpeck and District Parish Hall is seeking a licence to sell drinks at its bar until 10.30pm Mondays to Wednesdays and till 11pm Thursdays to Saturdays.

The hall’s licensing officer explained that this would avoid it having to apply for temporary events notices (TENs) each time for events at the hall. But that would still be the case for others hiring the hall, their application says.

But all events at the hall, southwest of Hereford, will still be suitable for children, and it would at no time be open solely for alcohol sales, it adds.

“Excessive loud music, noise, and drinking outside the hall will not be tolerated,” it says.

The hall already has a licence to host live and recorded music, plays and dance.

Meanwhile Golf Indoors Leominster, based in Brunel Road in the town's enterprise park, is seeking permission for alcohol to be consumed until 11pm each night.

A plan accompanying its licence application shows this would cover an area between the bar and reception area and its four “simulator bays”.

The business has been open for just under two years.

Representations on either application can be made via the licensing page of Herefordshire Council’s website until March 13.
