A HEREFORD couple are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary after 60 years of marriage, and have even been sent a card from the King.
Frederick and Gwyneth Bowen got married in 1964, and now live in Hereford. They have two children together.
The Bowens, who are both 84 years old, received a card from King Charles III and Queen Camilla wishing them a happy anniversary.
Mr Bowen, who was born in Bishopstone near Hereford, used to work for the government testing lorries in Hereford.
Mrs Bowen was born in Hay-on-Wye, one of 13 children, and went on to work for Sun Valley, a poultry factory.
Since retirement, their main interest has been travelling. They have been on Caribbean cruises, a Kenyan safari, and to various destinations in Europe.
But Mrs Bowen has since had four strokes and lost use of her arm and her leg, now using a wheelchair to get around and often having to attend medical appointments.
Mr Bowen said that he now cares for his wife due to her mobility problems.

Mr Bowen said the couple were very pleased with their card from the King and Queen, and had bought a frame for it to hang it on their wall.
It includes a picture of the King and Queen, along with a signed anniversary message.
Discussing their secret to a long and happy marriage, Mr Bowen said: "We've always discussed things before any decisions have been made. That's the way forward."
