LONG-RUNNING roadworks at a collapsed hillside have prompted a 'rude' sign branding workers 'jobsworths' and asking when the work will be finished.
The sign on the A449 Wells Road near the British Camp car park is a response to the temporary traffic lights which have been 'up for months'.
As long ago as November, there were complaints the roadworks had been dragging on for too long - now well into February they are still there.
The notice has been attached to the 'When red light shows wait here' sign and reads: "Hey jobsworth! When will this be finished?"
We have previously reported how the temporary two-way traffic lights on the A449 Wells Road near the British Camp Car Park have been causing delays for months - and now either a driver heading between Malvern and Ledbury (or perhaps a local resident) has taken out their frustration by creating the sign.
The restrictions have not just been affecting traffic but also residents in the area who are waiting for a fast broadband roll-out.
The Worcestershire County Council website had said the restrictions have been in place since May 12 and were set to be removed on Thursday, November 30.
One driver, who did not wish to be named, contacted the Worcester News and Malvern Gazette about the new sign.
Speaking on Tuesday, he said: "I was most amused to see the notice in the attached photo yesterday, I don't know if it's still there but if you get someone up there quick you may be lucky.
"These lights annoy me intensely. The lights are there to allow a walkway past a fallen piece of wall, the damage does not block the footpath at all but the safety barriers around it do.
"It can't take more than a bit of effort to put a temporary barrier in the gap in the wall, thus clearing the path and removing the lights which cause delays, look tatty and the hold ups must add to pollution.

"Also, if I recall, the lights did not appear for some weeks after the wall came down. People are quite capable of walking past a gap in a wall without taking a sudden dive over the edge just because there's a bit missing!"
In a previous statement issued last November, Councillor Mike Rouse, the county council’s cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “The deployment of temporary traffic lights on the A449 Wells Road is a safety measure to protect pedestrians and motorists following the collapse of the hillside and damage to the road.
“The temporary lights will stay in place whilst we investigate and undertake complex repair works on the hillside and road.”
