ONE of the busiest roads in Hereford is to be closed next week.
National Highways will shut Edgar Street from 9pm on Wednesday, February 28 to 6am the following morning.

The reason for the closure, it says, is due to drainage work that needs to take place from Edgar Street to Newtown Road.
Edgar Street will be shut northbound from the end of the dual carriageway to the A49/B4359 roundabout, and southbound from the start of the dual carriageway to the Edgar Street roundabout.
Diversion
National Highways say the diversion route will take about 10 minutes.
- Continue on Edgar Street roundabout
- Slight left towards Newmarket Street
- Continue on Blueschool Street
- Turn left towards Commercial Road
- Continue on Aylestone Hill
- Turn sharp right towards Roman Road
- Turn slight left towards Roman Road
- Continue on Roman Road
- Continue on Holmer roundabout
- Slight left towards Holmer Road
- Continue on Newtown Road
- Slight left towards Edgar Street
- Turn slight left towards Edgar Street
The reverse route applies.
