MAGISTRATES have banned a drink-driver from taking to the roads for a year after she was caught in Herefordshire.
Megan Watkins, a Renault Twingo driver, has been banned for 12 months and ordered to pay a fine after she was caught driving while over the alcohol limit.
The 18-year-old of Barber Close in Bartestree, near Hereford, having consumed 48 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35, on January 3.
The prosecutor Owen Beale said that she was caught in Barber Close, near her home.

She pleaded guilty at Hereford Magistrates' Court on February 21.
Watkins must pay a £120 fine, a £48 victim surcharge, plus £135 in costs, making a total of £303. The victim surcharge of £48 will go towards funding services supporting victims of crimes.
This could be reduced by 12 weeks if she completes a drink-driving awareness course by September 20.
