A “diverse” Indian restaurant is coming to a large premises in the middle of Hereford. And it will stay open till 1am each night if a licensing bid is passed.
The application by Masala Booth Ltd covers the adjoining 9 and 11-13 Owen Street opposite the town hall, and seeks permission to sell hot food and alcohol till 1am, seven days a week.
A “celebration of a diverse culinary heritage”, the planned Masala Magic will offer ordering by telephone for collection and via online for delivery as well as dine-in eating.

If approved, its licence will “enable us to offer a full menu of fine wines and alcoholic beverages to accompany our food in our restaurant or with deliveries”, the restaurant’s application says.
The premises previously housed the short-lived The Sopranos Bar & Restaurant and before that, Zane Wine Bar & Bistro. It appears to have been unoccupied for around seven years.
Comments on the application can be made until March 13 via Herefordshire Council’s licensing webpage.
