THE cost of the now-removed yellow lines on the roundabout in Central Avenue has come to light due to a freedom of information request (How much bungling workmen cost us with double-yellows “error”).
The painting of the lines cost £399.72. The removal of said lines cost £1,768.77, so a total of £2,168.49 of our hard-earned money wasted frivolously once again and we are to just accept it.

Letters should not exceed 250 words and local issues take precedence.
If this was a local business throwing money around in this manner, whoever was doing so would surely be reprimanded.
Their previous decisions should be investigated, and a question should be raised as to their position and employment within the authority.
It would be interesting to find out what has happened if anything to the decision-maker as the men who applied and removed the lines were just carrying out orders.
