A MAN has appeared in court for assaulting and harassing a woman and stealing her keys.
James Steele carried out the assault, harassment and theft in Bromyard on January 3, according to the prosecutor Sarah Hurd.
The 37-year-old, of Rowberry Street in Bromyard, has been remanded in custody. His sentencing is to take place later this month at Worcester Crown Court.
In committing the harassment offence, Steele was breaking the conditions of a restraining order that specified he should not contact his victim. He breached these conditions by making several phone calls to the woman and going to her address.
He also attacked her, causing actual bodily harm, and stole her bunch of keys.

His next appearance in court will be for his sentencing on March 22, with the probation service to carry out a pre-sentence report in the meantime.
He is to be sentenced by a judge at Worcester Crown Court.
