A "RECKLESS" man from Hereford who destroyed furniture in a Premier Inn hotel has been up before the magistrates.
Mark Smith entered a guilty plea to one count of criminal damage when he appeared before magistrates in Cheltenham this month.
The court heard from the prosecutor that the 35-year-old had, without a lawful excuse, intentionally or recklessly destroyed a mirror and a chair valued at under £5,000 on February 16. Their exact value was unknown.
The furniture belonged to the Premier Inn, with the incident happening at a hotel in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

There are three Premier Inns in Cheltenham, one in the town centre, one on the A40 and another to the north-west of the town. The exact Premier Inn where the incident took place has not been specified in court documents.
Smith, who gave the court a 'care of' address in Hereford, was handed a £107 fine, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account.
He was also ordered to pay compensation of £176 to Premier Inn and costs of £85.
