A DRINK-DRIVER has been handed a hefty fine after he was caught in Hereford while over the limit.
Ben Prosser entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford on March 6.
The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that the 31-year-old had been caught behind the wheel of a red BMW 1 Series near his home in Belmont Road in Hereford while over the limit on January 7.
An evidential breath test revealed he had 58 microgrammes (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. This exceeded the prescribed legal limit, which is 35 mg.

Prosser, of Belmont Road, Hereford, who was represented by Andrew Cleal, was fined £410 and disqualified from driving for 16 months.
He has the opportunity to complete a drink-driving awareness course by January 15 next year, which would reduce his ban by 16 weeks.
He must also pay costs of £135 and a £164 victim surcharge.
