A HOMELESS man has been banned from contacting his victims after a string of assaults in Hereford.
Ian Maher entered guilty pleas to one count of theft in a dwelling and three counts of assault by beating when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in March.
The court heard from prosecutor Ian Beale that the 37-year-old had stolen three £20 notes from a person in Hereford on January 18.

He had also assaulted a woman by beating in Hereford on December 9, 2022, and a man and a woman by beating in another incident in Hereford on December 23, magistrates were told.
Maher, who is of no fixed address, was handed a two-year community order with a 90-day monitored alcohol abstinence order and must undergo a six-month drug rehabilitation programme.
He was also fined £50 and received a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting his three victims.
Maher was ordered to a victim surcharge of £114, but no prosecution costs or compensation were ordered to be paid due to his limited means.
