CLOSURES are set to start on the A49 in Herefordshire as essential maintenance works take place.
The closures will take place on the busy main road overnight while the works to improve safety are carried out.
National Highways said the safety works include renewing the road markings and studs to provide a clearer and safer carriageway for road users, resurfacing some sections of road, and replacing signs and traffic bollards.

The road will be closed while the work takes place for safety reasons, National Highways said.
The works will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption and is due to be completed in early May.
During the closures, fully signed diversions will be in place.
