A PLEA to the Green party in North Herefordshire, from an exasperated resident: cease and desist!
An avalanche of flyers clutters my hallway, touting tiresome tedium about the ‘brilliant’ and ‘hard-working’ Ellie Chowns.
In this house, it does not pass go, does not collect £200 (or my vote) but goes straight to jail (the green wheelie bin). So much hot air, so much wasted paper.

‘It’s between Ellie and the Tory’ is at best annoying, and at worst disingenuous. A quick Google search for electoral calculus reveals that the actual competitor to Sir Bill, whenever the election comes, will be the Labour party candidate.
In the general elections of 2017 and 2019, Dr Chowns was fourth.
What are your thoughts?
You can send a letter to the editor to have your say by clicking here.
Letters should not exceed 250 words and local issues take precedence.
Local election results are not a reliable predictor in the national vote and neither are ‘doorstep conversations’. No amount of wishful thinking can change this reality.
Finally, a polite request to those pushing ‘It’s Ellie or the Tory’, please think again before asking other local non-Tory parties to stand aside and leave the field ‘clear for Ellie’.
