A HEREFORD man assaulted a family member at his home - in front of a child.
Mark Smith, of Highmore Street, pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court earlier this month.
The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that the 56-year-old was seen kicking the victim at 2pm on September 1, 2023.

Ms Millichip added, that while no injury was caused, a child witnessed the assault and alcohol was an aggravating feature.
Representing Smith, Andrew Cleal said his client fully accepts what happened and is remorseful for his actions.
"These people do get on quite well but Mr Smith was quite distressed about what [the victim] said about his partner," said Mr Cleal.
Smith was handed a conditional discharge lasting 12 months. He does however have to pay court costs of £135 and a government surcharge of £26 respectively.
