ROADWORKS have sprung up in a busy Hereford this evening.
Workmen are currently in Whitecross Road, by the Shell petrol station.
Two-way lights are currently in operation, which is causing delays in Whitecross Road. There has also been traffic in Plough Lane.
On Herefordshire Council's website, which shows a map of ongoing roadworks, there is nothing showing for Whitecross Road.
The only nearby work that is highlighted is in nearby Eign Street, near Aldi.

That is ongoing 'road incursion work' that is taking place from 9am to 4pm and is set to finish tomorrow (March 22).
Meanwhile, the eastbound carriageway of Newmarket Street is set to be closed tonight (March 21).
It is so that crane works can take place between 9pm and 6am tomorrow (March 22). The alternative route is via Edgar Street and onto Hereford City Link Road, and then Commercial Road.
