FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Hereford street after smoke was seen rising from a home in the city in the early hours of the morning.
Two crews from Hereford were joined at the scene in the Putson area of the city by a crew from Fownhope fire station after receiving the call at 1.15am on Monday morning (April 1).
A fire service spokesperson said further inspection by crews revealed the source of the smoke to be a fire in a chimney stack at the home in the street.

Initially crews used the hearth kit and a chimney rose to put out the fire internally until the arrival of the aerial ladder platform to access the rooftop and deal with embers in the chimney stack externally, the spokesperson said.
The fire service confirmed that no-one was injured in the incident, with the crews leaving the scene to return to their stations at 4am.
Ewyas Harold Fire Station was brought in to standby at Hereford whilst the Hereford crews were at this incident.
