TWO academies in Herefordshire are celebrating after their multi-academy trust was shortlisted for an award.
Hereford Sixth Form College and John Kyrle High School are both part of the Heart of Mercia multi-academy trust, which has been shortlisted as a finalist in the staff development category.
The trust says the judging panel acknowledged its opportunities for teaching and support staff, and the way in which schools within the trust collaborate and share good practice, including with large training events.

Peter Cooper, the CEO of the trust, said: “I am delighted that the work of my colleagues in sharing good practice and identifying focused staff training to ensure we provide outstanding teaching, learning, care and support for our young people has been recognised in this way. As a growing trust, we are better together.”
The MAT Excellence Awards, presented by Optimus Education, celebrate excellence and impact in multi-academy trusts and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Solihull on June 27.
Other schools in the Heart of Mercia trust include Worcester Sixth Form and the Chantry School in Worcester and King Edward VI College in Stourbridge.
