A NEW shop has opened its doors in Hereford city centre with all proceeds going to a very good cause.
The Sense shop, which will support children and adults with complex disabilities, has opened in Hereford's Eign Gate, selling a range of goods including ladieswear, menswear, homeware and children’s toys.
A Sense spokesperson said they also hope the shop will act as a community hub to bring people together and tackle loneliness, with the charity's research finding more than 53 per cent of people with complex disabilities often or always feel lonely, in comparison to 25 per cent of the general population.
The shop is looking for volunteers from all walks of life who can spare a few hours a week to join their friendly team. The benefits of volunteering include making new friends and learning new skills.
Locals can also help the Sense shop by donating items to the shop during its opening hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Katy Scourfield, Sense area manager, said: “We’re so pleased to have opened a new Sense shop in Hereford, and we’ve already had a great reception from the public.
“Sense’s mission is to make sure nobody is left out of life, no matter how complex their disabilities. We hope everyone living in Hereford will really get behind our mission and support everything the shop stands for.
“Please come into the shop to say hi, and if you’ve got any goods to donate or time to spare as a volunteer, we appreciate it so much.”
To browse what’s on offer, donate pre-loved items, or ask about volunteering, pop into the shop at 12 -14 Eign Gate, Hereford, HR4 0AB.
