A HEREFORDSHIRE man has admitted sending offensive Facebook posts and emails to a woman.
Shaun Meaney pleaded guilty to one count of religiously aggravated harassment without violence.
A Hereford Magistrates’ Court hearing on March 27 was told the 27-year-old sent the Facebook posts and emails between August 24 and September 8 last year. Emails were sent to the victim and Facebook posts mentioned her.

He has been handed a restraining order and told not to contact the woman directly or indirectly. He has also been fined £120, uplifted by £40 because the harassment was religiously aggravated. He must also pay prosecution costs of £185.
Tom Wickstead, prosecuting for the Crown Prosecution Service, said that Meaney knew or ought to have known that the posts and emails amounted to harassment.
Meaney, of Putley Green in Putley, near Ledbury, was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor George Cousins, and entered a guilty plea.
