A TEENAGE driver was caught behind the wheel of a BMW on a Hereford road while over the alcohol limit.
Alexander Wright, 19, appeared before magistrates after admitting driving while over the alcohol limit.
He was driving a BMW in Hereford’s Whitecross Road while affected by alcohol on February 10, prosecutor Lauren Millichip said.
Wright was breathalysed and found to have 63 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

Appearing at the hearing in Hereford on April 3, Wright entered a guilty plea. This, magistrates said, was taken into account when they made their decision on a penalty.
Wright, of Cedar Lane, Burghill, was handed a 17-month ban and a £400 fine. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £160 victim surcharge.
He has been given the opportunity to complete a drink-drive awareness course by March 2025, which would reduce his ban by 17 weeks.
