A WOMAN has been accused of assault and wasting police time after emergency services were called to the river Wye in Hereford.
All three emergency services were called to the river at Belvedere Lane shortly after midnight on April 13 after receiving reports of a woman in the water.
There were five fire crews in total, including engines from Hereford and Fownhope, the boat crews from Hereford and Evesham, the incident support unit and drone from Ledbury, and the service's search and rescue dog.
A spokesperson for the fire service said a female casualty was rescued from the water by officers.

She has been named as Kirsty Waugh, a 30-year-old woman of Danny Lee Walk, Burghill. Waugh has been released on bail and will appear in court in Hereford on June 12.
An ambulance spokesperson added: "We received a call from fire colleagues on April 13 about concerns for a patient's welfare, however we were stood down as we were not required on scene."
