The court heard from the prosecutor that the 53-year-old had been caught breaking the limit while behind the wheel of a Seat in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A49 at Dinmore Hill in Herefordshire on June 24 last year.
Davies, of Quarry Gardens, Ludlow, was fined £45 and given three penalty points on his driving licence. Magistrates said they took his guilty plea into account when coming to their decision on the sentence.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £153 and a £61 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
