A MAN has pretended to be a police officer in Herefordshire.
Giving his name as John Collis, the person visited a property in Harewood End, near Ross-on-Wye, claiming that he was from Gloucestershire Constabulary.
However, after being checked by the resident's family members, this was found to be untrue.
The man is described as being white, English, and having a small beard. There was also a van present, described as being largely grey in colour, with a male sat inside.
Police are now investigating the suspicious incident that happened between 5.50pm and 6pm last night (April 17).

Anyone who has had the same or similar experience is asked to report it by calling 101. And if you managed to obtain a registration number plate of the vehicle, you should pass it on to the call handler.
Fraudsters regularly claim from to be from the police in a scam known as 'courier fraud'.
This is when they attempt to convince people they are legitimate police officers, when in fact they are criminals who try and get the victims to part with their money or expensive items.
No police officer will ever ask you to make a payment or purchase, withdraw or transfer money, or ask for your bank details.
