A new card shop is planned for the middle of Hereford.
Cards Direct has applied for permission to put up new signs at 6 Commercial Street in the city, formerly occupied by House of Tweed and before that, Carphone Warehouse.
These would be a 90cm-high main vinyl “fascia”, a further panel above the door, and a projecting hanging sign, the fascia and hanging signs to be internally lit and in green and purple lettering on magenta.
A new lease for the shop is being agreed between tenant and owner, the shop’s application says.

“It is believed that the owner will consent to the new signage within the next few weeks and when the lease is finalised and signed,” it adds.
Hertfordshire-based Cards Direct currently has 62 branches across central and southern England.
A Cardmarket shop, one of a short-lived budget greetings card chain operated by WHSmith, occupied the neighbouring premises until 2019. It is now a vape shop.
