A MAN who assaulted a girl under the age of 18 by beating has appeared in court.
Iestyn Jones entered a guilty plea to one count of assault by beating when she appeared at Hereford Magistrates’ Court on April 24.
The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that Jones, of Bath Street, Hereford, had assaulted a girl by beating her on December 7 last year.
The victim cannot be named for legal reasons as she is under the age of 18, meaning her identity is protected and she must remain anonymous. A reporting restriction is in place to ensure this.

20-year-old Jones, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Marilena Divitantonio, has been released on bail before her sentencing.
He will next appear in court at Hereford Magistrates’ Court on May 21, and he will then be sentenced.
A pre-sentence report will be carried out by the probation service.
