HEREFORD firefighters were called to a blaze involving an electricity pylon in a lane on the outskirts of the city.
A fire crew was sent to Grafton Lane to tackle the fire, which started at around 8.30pm on May 27.
A fire service spokesperson said: "A crew from Hereford Fire Station was called at 8.37pm on May 27 to a pylon fire and cables arcing in Grafton Lane, Hereford.
"The fire had self-extinguished before the arrival of the fire service. National Grid attended to isolate the pylon involved.
"Grafton Lane was closed in both directions."

The National Grid has general advice on its website for what to do in an emergency involving electricity. It says: "If you spot a potential hazard please call the electricity emergency line: 0800 40 40 90.
"Tell us where the emergency is. Describe the area or look for road signs. Explain what's happened and what you can see. Give your name and number.
"Do not approach any hazard. Keep as far away as possible. Warn anyone in the area to evacuate."
The National Grid was approached for comment on the incident in Grafton Lane.
