Travellers’ caravans appear to have relocated to the south of Hereford after having previously led to the closure of the car park at the city ‘s main leisure centre.
Halo Leisure’s car park off the A49 Holmer Road to the north of the city was closed to the public for a time after several caravans pitched up there on Sunday (May 26).
A group of four large caravans have now been seen on public open space at The Pastures off Hoarwithy Road to the south of the city.
A spokesperson for Herefordshire Council said it was “aware of an unauthorised encampment on the open space land at The Pastures, Lower Bullingham”.

“Appropriate visits and action are being undertaken to resolve the situation,” they added.
The council has said as part of its consultation on the county’s new local plan that the county will need “at least 41 pitches for gypsies and travellers up to 2041”.
“We are keen to hear about any sites that could help meet this need,” it said.
