A 36-YEAR-OLD man who stole Pokemon cards worth £142 from a newsagent in Herefordshire has appeared in court and been fined.
He admitted the shoplifting incident which happened on April 26 this year.
The defendant, Shane Evans, was in the dock at Hereford Magistrates’ Court on May 15 which heard he stole the Pokemon cards from WHSmith in Corn Street, Leominster.
Prosecutor Owen Beale said that the Pokemon cards were worth £142.
The magistrates fined Evans, of Portna Way, Leominster, £440 and said they had taken his guilty plea into account.

As well as the £440 fine the magistrates ordered the defendant to pay £85 in court costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Pokemon cards are part of a collectible trading game based on the Japanese Pokemon franchise, which also consists of video games and animated television series and films.
Rare Pokemon cards can fetch huge amounts when sold online, with the most expensive Pokemon card ever being sold for $5.275 million.
