A MAN has been in custody after a crash near a Herefordshire pub yesterday (May 30).
A vehicle collided with the side of the Black Swan Hotel on West Street, Leominster, yesterday evening (May 30), destroying a number of street planters.
A spokesperson for the West Mercia Police said they were called to the incident at 5.45 pm and arrested a 31-year old man at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving and assaulting an emergency worker.
Three Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews, one each from Hereford, Leominster and Kingsland Fire Stations, were also called to the popular pub at 5.42pm.

“A vehicle had been in collision with street furniture,” a fire service spokesperson said.
“One man was left in the custody of police while one male casualty was handed over to the care of the ambulance service. The incident was marked as pending closure at 18:47.”
The road through West Street is clear and open as of May 31, but debris from the incident remains piled up on the pavement.
