A HEREFORDSHIRE pub has overhauled its opening times and lunch offering.

The Bell in Yarpole has announced that they will now be opening their doors at 12 pm every day except Monday, a huge departure from their previous schedule under which locals had to wait until the evening on weekdays before being allowed in.

Visitors who stop by on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon will now be able to order from the Bell’s bar snack menu, which includes baguettes, jacket potatoes, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, pork pies and more.

The pub's full lunch menu is now available on both Friday and Saturday, offering patrons a range of classic pub grub dishes like fish and chips, scampi and steak but with a sophisticated twist.

These changes come as part of a gradual effort by the Mortimer Community Benefit Society, the community group who own the Bell, to build the pub back up after its previous tenants left last October.

The Bell only opened occasionally during the final months of 2023, with extensive renovations taking place during the downtime. The kitchens were cleaned and repainted, and the interior of the pub was refashioned with new sofas and improved lighting. Additionally, the heating in the cider barn annexe was restored, allowing it to return to regular use.

By February of this year the works were completed and the Mortimer Community Benefit Society announced that the Bell in Yarpole would open on a regular basis to offer food and drink for locals.
