WE should be slowing the water flow not increasing it, which causes flooding downstream, hence the introduction of beavers in some areas (Is he vindicated? May 23).

Trees regulate the water temperature, so cutting them down can cause fish to overheat and die.
Our biodiversity is in a critical state so clearance on the scale carried out by John Price on the Lugg in Kingsland is highly damaging to habitats and fish redds.
