HEREFORDSHIRE families "have lost everything" in a devastating fire.

The fire broke out in flats in Lawnside Road, Ledbury, earlier today (June 5).

Two Go Fund Me pages have been set up to support families after the "awful" fire.

One of the posts says: "There has been an awful fire.

"Multiple families have been affected. Some have lost everything.

"We are hoping we can all pull together and raise enough funds to help families."

Daniel Donald's fundraising post adds: "We have just lost our flat to an electrical fire and will be put in temporary housing. We have lost everything. Replacing furniture, clothes, bedding and electricals while having the funds to take care of ourselves and our two children is just not possible to do alone.

"Others in their flats around us have also had damage to their homes.

"I am asking that you only donate if you can. Any small amount will help tremendously. Thank you so much."

Crews from Ledbury, Hereford and Malvern fire stations were joined at the scene in Ledbury's Lawnside Road after they were called to a building fire at 7.14am on June 5, a fire service spokesperson said.

The fire involved a three-storey mid-terrace building with the fire on the top floor having spread to the roof space, the spokesperson said.

The fire was fought by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using two hosereel jets and a triple extension ladder. The aerial ladder platform is in use to cut away roof tiles and dampen down.

There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required although Western Power were advised.
