FIREFIGHTERS have issued a further update after a major fire broke out in a block of flats in Herefordshire.
Crews from Ledbury and Malvern fire stations were joined by the aerial ladder platform from Hereford at the fire in Lawnside Road, Ledbury, after they were called to the blaze at 7.14am on June 5.
“The fire involved a three-storey mid-terrace flat with the fire on the top floor having spread to the roof space. The fire was fought by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using two hosereel jets and a triple extension ladder,” a fire service spokesperson said.
The aerial ladder platform was used to allow firefighters to cut away roof tiles and damped down, with the fire confirmed to be out by 2.30pm and a reinspection taking place at 5pm, the spokesperson has confirmed in an update.
Western Power and gas network company Cadent were also in attendance alongside police, the spokesperson said.

There were no casualties, but yet multiple families suffered a terrible loss as a result of the “devastating” fire and, since the incident, two Go Fund Me pages have been set up to support them.
One of the posts said: "There has been an awful fire.
“Multiple families have been affected. Some have lost everything.
"We are hoping we can all pull together and raise enough funds to help families."
Lawnside Road resident Daniel Donald's fundraising post adds: "We have just lost our flat to an electrical fire and will be put in temporary housing. We have lost everything. Replacing furniture, clothes, bedding and electricals while having the funds to take care of ourselves and our two children is just not possible to do alone.
“Others in their flats around us have also had damage to their homes.
"I am asking that you only donate if you can. Any small amount will help tremendously. Thank you so much."
