A late-night bar in a Herefordshire town could lose its licence following police concerns about disorder.

West Mercia Police licensing officer PC Dean Wall has applied to have the premises licence of Shooters Bar in Burgess Street, Leominster reviewed.

“This is following police attendance for large-scale disorder on Saturday May 25" at the bar, his application says.

“Further detail will be provided to the committee,” it adds.

The licence is expected to be reviewed by Herefordshire Council’s licensing subcommittee following a public consultation period which runs until July 8, which can be commented on via the council’s licensing webpage.

The subcommittee has the power to suspend the bar’s licence or withdraw it altogether.

Its owner Jonathan Rudge said: “We refute the allegation that we have failed to uphold the licensing objectives regarding the incident on the May 25, and look forward to the licensing subcommittee hearing where at we will explain our position fully.”

Shooters Bar successfully applied in 2022 to have its licence extended to play music and serve alcohol until 4.30am on Friday and Saturday and until 2am on other nights.
