A LIFELINE service is on the hunt for help to keep it on the roads.
The Tenbury Transport Trust is looking for new drivers to join their team to help them continue to provide their life-changing service.
It seems a fundamental right to be able to go about personal business whenever you wish and have such a service provided by a friendly face.
The Tenbury Transport Trust (TTT) aims to ensure just that, and you too can help to alleviate isolation and loneliness for those who need it most with TTT’s new job opportunities.
At the heart of its community since the late 1990s, Tenbury Transport Trust became a charity in 2014, and currently supports over 500 active clients and have over 35 volunteers. The trust promotes independence and keeps communities together and talking at an affordable rate of only £10 per year to register for access to minibuses and their car scheme.
The amazing opportunities for clients of the trust are returned to the amazing people who provide it. TTT takes care of its volunteers and employees just as well.
Tenbury Transport Trust pay for a DBS certificate, provide training and support for all roles, and aim to work around their volunteers’ preferences and availability to assign drivers to trips. All mileage is reimbursed, with TTT car scheme volunteers using their own car to transport individual people and offering as much or as little time to the job as they wish.
The car scheme alone has provided transport for over 230 clients in the past 12 months. Volunteers are also always welcome to turn a job down without any questions asked.
Due to a huge demand for the trust’s services, TTT is looking for more volunteers from all areas surrounding Tenbury. Positions are currently available for volunteer drivers, passenger assistants and a fleet technician to oversee our three minibuses and our wheelchair accessible car. A TTT administrator position is also available. You can join a wonderful office team of three more administrators and a group of trustees with this paid position.
To find out more about these job opportunities, you call the team on 01584 81049, 9am-12pm Monday-Friday, pop into the office at 34 Teme Street, or email becky@tttrust.org.uk.
