NEIGHBOURS were woken up this month by council contractors cutting back a hedge fronting Watling Close at just before 4.30am.

And what a mess they made.

The top of the hedge and the side facing the road was cut back but left looking very shabby whereas the side left untouched hangs about two feet across the pavement.

I would be curious as a council tax payer how much it cost for this to be done and whether anyone will check the dreadful state it has been left in let alone the distress caused to residents.

Does anyone care about a job being done properly these days?
