A WELL-KNOWN TV presenter has backed the Green Party's north Herefordshire candidate Ellie Chowns in a social media video.
Steve Backshall, best known for his children's TV show Deadly 60 and various nature documentaries, supported Dr Chowns' campaign.
He said in the video: "Please consider voting for Dr Ellie Chowns. This is a very, very close election and the Green party could achieve in your area, which is known for its natural beauty and certainly could do with some protecting."

Other celebrities who have backed Dr Chowns' campaign include celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud.
Fearnley-Whittingstall appeared at the river Wye in Herefordshire with Dr Chowns for an event discussing the health of the Wye last Wednesday (June 26), with the pair taking a dip in the river together.
The other candidates in north Herefordshire are Bill Wiggin (Conservative), Jon Browning (Labour), Andrew Dye (Reform) and Cat Hornsey (Lib Dem).
