“The thing I have enjoyed most about my time at Aldi is meeting new people, whether it’s a new colleague or a customer that eventually becomes a regular," Mr Lane said.

“I have also been lucky enough to work at multiple stores over the years and learnt so much along the way. It still only seems like yesterday that I was leaving school to join Aldi but I have come a long way since!”

Dan Oakenfull, regional managing director at Aldi UK, said: “With around 45,000 colleagues in the UK, it’s fair to say that people are our biggest and most brilliant asset at Aldi.

“Tom is no exception, and his commitment to Aldi’s values is testament to why we are loved by so many. We look forward to celebrating even more of his achievements in the coming years."
