A MOTORWAY crash has caused traffic delays in Herefordshire in the early hours of this morning (July 19).

The M50 was blocked eastbound between junctions four and three, Ross-on-Wye and Gorsley Common, causing delays in the area.

A crash was first reported by National Highways at 3.30am.

A National Highways spokesperson wrote on social media: "The M50 is closed between junction four near Ross-on-Wye and junction three, Gorsley Common, following a collision."

National Highways advised drivers to "expect delays", but added that the queues that had been reported were not "significant".

One lane had reopened by 5am, with the other remaining closed for recovery and clear up works.

The spokesperson posted an update: "All lanes have reopened on the M50 eastbound between junction four near Ross-on-Wye and junction three, Gorsley Common, following a collision.

"Thank you for your patience. Please have a safe onward journey."
