A DRIVER fled the scene after a cyclist was seriously injured in a Herefordshire crash.

A search has been launched after the crash, which happened on July 11, with officers keen to speak to anyone who was travelling near to the Welsh border and Michaelchurch Escley from Green Lane in the direction of Rydunnog Lane between 4pm and 4.30pm.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after the crash, a police spokesperson said.

The driver of the other vehicle, the details of which are unknown, failed to stop at the scene, the spokesperson said.

Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle or anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage to come forward.
