A MAN was caught carrying a knife in an incident near Hereford’s Edgar Street football ground.
Andrew Heaton pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a knife blade in a public place when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates’ Court earlier this month.
Heaton, 50, was caught with a knife in Edgar Street on August 26 last year.

The prosecutor said that Heaton possessed a kitchen knife with a sharply pointed blade.
His guilty plea was taken into account by magistrates when they came to their decision, and sentenced him to a 12-month community order with 200 hours of unpaid work.
He must attend up to 30 days of rehabilitation activities with a responsible probation officer or someone else nominated by them, and must comply with instructions of the officer and attend appointments.
An order was made for the kitchen knife to be forfeited and destroyed, and Heaton was told to pay prosecution costs of £100.
