A THIEF who stole a statue of a dog worth £4,000 has been handed a community order.
Ricky Johnson, of Goldrill Way, Worcester, was sentenced to a 12-month community order following an offence in Herefordshire earlier this year.
At one point between February 19 and February 22, he stole a statue of a dog worth £4,000 from a woman in Leominster.

The 32-year-old entered a guilty plea to one count of theft from the person of another, which is an offence under sections one and seven of the Theft Act 1968.
He was sentenced at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on July 18, and was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work as part of his community order. He must also pay £2,400 in compensation to the victim.
He was not ordered to pay prosecution costs or a victim surcharge due to his lack of means, and because magistrates wanted the compensation to take priority.
