A HEREFORDSHIRE village's resounding success proved testament to the community’s generosity and expertise in not letting the rain spoil a sunny day.
Despite the miserable weather, the village raised over £2,500 and its historic annual fundraising event, the Huntington Village Fete, was just as popular as ever, held in the beautiful gardens of Huntington Court.
This year's fete was opened by Sandra Jones, a long-time village resident of 46 years. Ms Jones has been running the produce stall at the fete for many years, taking over from mother-in-law, Dorothy Jones.
The funds raised will be instrumental in maintaining Huntington’s churches and village hall but will also be supporting the patient participation group (PPG) of Kington Medical Practice. The PPG is currently raising funds to purchase a blood-testing centrifuge machine to allow blood tests to be carried out at the surgery.
Huntington fete’s organisers are “grateful for the overwhelming support from everyone involved and all those who attended. Your contributions have made a significant difference, and we couldn't have done it without you.”
