A Wales and West Utilities gas pipe upgrade will see two Herefordshire streets temporarily closed throughout the summer holidays and beyond.
The utilities company say their work is “essential to ensure the gas is kept flowing safely to heat and power local homes and businesses, keeping people safe and warm for generations to come.”
Having liaised with Herefordshire County Council, the street closures are confirmed for two separate occasions.
Greytree Road
Grey Tree Road near Ross-on-Wye’s town centre will be closed between today (July 29) and August 23 while Wales and West Utilities carry out their gas pipe upgrade.
Brookend Street
Brookend Street in Ross-on-Wye’s town centre will also be closed between August 27 and September 9.
Mick Gallavin of Wales and West Utilities is managing the work and apologises “for the inconvenience this essential work will cause. We know that working in areas like this is not ideal,” Mr Gallavin said, but the upgrade will both “keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.”
“Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.”
The Wales and West Utilities Customer Service Team can be contacted on 0800 912 2999 or via Facebook and X, formerly Twitter, for any questions about their work.
