Herefordshire has basked in beautiful but intense sun this week, and the heat is expected to continue with temperatures in the county expected to reach 29C today (July 31).
The hottest day of the year was first recorded yesterday with temperatures in the county reaching a scorching 26C but that is expected to be beaten this afternoon.
The Met Office forecast is predicting that by 6pm, the city will be experiencing a peak of 29C.
The turbulent weather is likely to continue as the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for tomorrow, Thursday August 1, due to a possible thunderstorm in the county.
However, daily temperatures look set to drop slowly towards the end of this week, with a much cooler high of 22C forecast for both Friday and Saturday.
What is the Met Office yellow weather warning?
The warning suggest we could expect “multiple rounds” of heavy showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, which could lead to some disruption and lead to difficult driving conditions.
However, the Met Office has forecast that it is likely that the South-East of England will be the most affected, so Herefordshire may only experience a “showery rain” which is forecast for Wales and the Midlands.
