A TRUCK driver from Hereford who was caught drink-driving has appeared in court.
The driver, 26-year-old Victoria Engel, was recorded as having 142 milligrammes (mg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. The legal driving limit is 80 mg.
Engel, of Bacton, Herefordshire, pleaded guilty to one count of driving a vehicle with an alcohol level above the limit when she appeared at Hereford Magistrates’ Court in July.
She was caught in Ewyas Harold, on Ewyas Harold Common Road, while driving a Ford Ranger on December 6 last year, prosecutor Camilla Toscano told the court.

She was disqualified from driving for 17 months and fined £400. She must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £160.
She was offered the opportunity to take a drink-driving awareness course by June 2025 to reduce her ban by 17 weeks.
The magistrates took Engel’s guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.
