THE speed limit on a Herefordshire road is to be cut to 20 miles per hour.
The limit will be changed on the main A438 through Lugwardine near Hereford.
According to Herefordshire Council, the 20mph speed limit will be in place between the river Lugg and Hephill Lodge in the village, while drainage works are carried out.
The restriction will be in place for 16 days from August 5.
The limit on this stretch of road is usually 60 mph between Tupsley, on the outskirts of Hereford, and Lugwardine, and goes into 30 mph before crossing the bridge into the village.

The work is to be completed by Balfour Beatty contractors.
Although this speed limit is temporary, there have previously been calls for permanent 20 mph limits on some of Herefordshire's roads.
According to a House of Commons report, cutting the speed limit from 30 to 20 mph reduces the likelihood of pedestrians dying from being hit, from one in two to one in ten.
