I am certain there are going to be a large number of pensioners like myself who will be a little disgruntled to say the least at losing their winter fuel payments this coming winter.

With energy costs to rise in October, many older pensioners who do not get pension credit etc are going to find it hard to manage on the £884.40 we pensioners receive each month.

I think it would be fair to say that if we pensioners received a decent pension there would not be the need for the winter fuel payment. It would be interesting to see if Rachel Reeves could manage on £884.80 a month... I think not!

One more point is the matter of having to pay tax on our pension.

To my way of thinking, they are giving it to us with one hand and taking it off us with the other.
