WEST Mercia Police have said that they are working with other agencies to "be prepared" after large-scale disorder in the UK.

Although no riots have taken place in the county, or elsewhere in West Mercia, and police say there is no confirmed intelligence of planned activity, officers have released statements responding to local concern.

Police and crime commissioner John Campion said: "The riots that we have seen elsewhere in the country will no doubt have caused concern to all groups.

"In West Mercia, we have not seen those same events. Should we find ourselves in a situation where that changes, I know that we have resources to take action."
